That debris holds water against the shingles, dams up the valleys, and pushes runoff sideways under the courses instead of down into the gutter. It is one of the most common causes of roof leaks we see, and it has nothing to do with the roof being old.

A blow down is exactly what it sounds like: we clear the roof dry, with air. No water, no cleaning solution, nothing that can drive debris further under the shingles. Valleys, dormer bases, behind the chimney, and the low-slope sections where needles collect all get cleared, and the debris comes off the property with us.

Most homes want this once or twice a year -- late fall after the needles drop, and often again in spring. It pairs naturally with gutter cleaning, since the debris we take off the roof is the debris that would have ended up in your gutters.
