About Our Roof Power Washing Service
"Power washing" a roof does not mean blasting it. High pressure strips the granules off asphalt shingles and voids most manufacturer warranties -- it is the single fastest way to take years off a roof. What we do instead is a low-pressure soft wash: a specialized cleaning solution does the work, and water at low pressure carries it away.
That solution kills algae, moss, lichen, and mildew at the root rather than scraping the surface growth off and leaving it to come straight back. The black streaks most Maine homeowners assume are permanent staining are almost always *Gloeocapsa magma*, a living algae, and they come off completely.
